Welcome to the website of the European project ECLAT. This Project is promoted by Universidade Aberta (Portugal) and it is coordinated by Interact International (Reino Unido), with the following partners: Gabrovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Bulgaria), Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Latvia) and Stefna (Iceland). The Project was launched in Bath in the United Kingdom in 2006 under the Leonardo da Vinci Programme and will finish in November 2008.
This is a 2-year cooperation between Portugal (the Open University), the United Kingdom (Interact International), Bulgaria (Gabrovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Latvia (the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and Iceland (Stefna) with the aim of promoting cross-border training, by applying a scheme developed by the British Chambers of Commerce and Interact International.
ECLAT offers the business person and entrepreneur an innovative way of trading internationally by using a business manual specifically designed for the exporting industry. The scheme that ECLAT is now implementing in Portugal, Bulgaria and Latvia, is currently operating and expanding in Hungary, Iceland, Poland, Spain, and United Kingdom, and was already tested in Portugal. It is expected to become implemented in other European countries to facilitate and increase the annual turnover of SMEs in the European Union.
